WHEN DOES ESD BECOME DANGEROUS OR HARMFUL?
Due to the low energy involved, the exchange of charges between two bodies is often not noticed. However, even small electric shocks can quickly lead to irreparable damage or cause hidden defects in electronic components. If ESD damage is not immediately detected, high repair or replacement costs may be incurred. And if an entire product batch is compromised, the most serious level of reputational damage is added to the financial loss, which in the worst case can lead to the loss of customers.

Workstations
The perfect ESD workstation is ergonomically adjustable and
equipped with ESD protection. Electrostatic charges are
discharged in a controlled manner through the working surface and a grounding cable, thus keeping the workstation system electrically neutral.
Grounding for personnel safety equipment
People are the main source of electrostatic charges. For those
involved in the manufacture of electronic components, it
is therefore advisable to use a wristband with a grounding cable
and insulated footwear. In addition, the desk chair and standing aid should also be equipped with ESD protection.
Warehouse & Storage
Drawer cabinets or cabinets with closed ESD hinged doors and
ESD shelves with ESD containers (Faraday cage) ensure optimum storage of electronic components.
Markings
Areas with ESD protection must be marked accordingly. In addition, construction components at risk must be marked with signs or other adhesive labels.
